GAC transforms 2000+ square feet of wildly messy creative space into a calm refuge of inspired works–just for you, just for the summer!
Nestled in the harbour-front hub of Gimli, anchoring the Seawall Gallery, GAC is home to more than 60 inventive members year-round. From the whimsical to the sublime, their Gallery is a showcase of talent, growth, and experimentation that is not to be missed. Been there, done that? Unlike other galleries, GAC is an ever-evolving, constantly changing eclectic mix of Interlake artists, new and seasoned. And…it houses one of Manitoba’s largest selection of art greeting cards. Gimli Art Club summer gallery is an open invitation to feed your creative cravings!
In the busy summer months, the building is open from 11 until 5 every day of the week and staffed by volunteer member artists who are willing to discuss their processes and techniques. Just steps away, the Seawall Gallery is a stroll through the history, flora, and fauna of the Gimli area presented in murals painted by Club members. Each summer several artists restore and create new murals keeping the view vibrant. Always willing to chat with the public, Seawall artists are friendly and open—and sometimes just a little sun burned!
During the off seasons, Gimli Art Club is alive with artists engaged in almost a dozen different media—in workshops, purpose-driven groups, and individual creation. Yes, even in January, volunteers shovel their way in to gather for inspiration and engagement. In these months, the Club is open during special events in Gimli and by chance on weekends.
Find us on The WAVE: Directly across from the Lakeview Resort Hotel at the waterfront; adjacent to the Gimli Tourist Information Centre. Watch for the blue WAVE sign and flag, #30 in the Guide. Picnic area and tables available in front of the Gallery.
