Profile
Lake water is Gayle’s lifeblood, splashing images of lake, sky and land as it flows onto
canvas through her brush. “I feel bliss wash over me when in my studio; it’s where my
heart sings” she says about her creative space. It took almost a year to turn a neglected
cottage in Winnipeg Beach into Studio 410 – a venue dedicated to art.
From a childhood cabin in Matlock to summer liveaboard boater and finally lakeside
artist, Gayle’s journey has been a lifetime connected to Lake Winnipeg. Her award-
winning paintings, playful pottery and experiments grace homes across the continent.
Reflecting Gayle’s personality, her works are energetic, confident and warm but have a
healthy spattering of playfulness. Acrylic, watercolour, and clay lure her to brush and
squish the day away.
Surfing on a wave of new tech knowledge, Gayle has plans to launch online workshops,
short videos, e-sales of works, and a renewed presence on social media. Follow her
journey on Facebook: Studio410 Visual Arts by Gayle Halliwell.
Gayle is an active member of The WAVE Artists’ Studio Tour, cre8ery gallery, the Gimli
Art Club, Creative Manitoba, and The Gwen Fox Gallery. Studio 410 is open year-round
for events, workshops, and by appointment, see www.gaylehalliwell.com.

public health guidelines allow, Studio 410 will again open its doors to people and all
things creative.
