Capturing your Soul: Life Mask

A life mask is a capture of your soul at one point in time—using your own face for
the base of the plaster sculpture. Don’t panic! Gayle uses techniques that honour
individuality and respect the inner self. In the first session, create the mask
following steps that ensure you are comfortable, relaxed, and safe. In an optional
second session, using acrylic paints you can transform your mask into an
abstracted view of self or other. Not all serious, this workshop can also be
adapted to theatrical, costume, and other preferences of participants.

Come Sail Away - Build a Sail Boat with Driftwood

Artist, Glenda Knoll, designed this workshop for those who love the lake and realize
there is beauty and "opportunity" in driftwood. Weather permitting, Glenda takes
participants on a quick walk to the lake to find their own special piece of driftwood.
They then return to Glenda’s studio to begin the project. The wood will be lightly
painted with stain or a clear varnish, then materials are applied to build the mast
and sail. Paints may also be used to decorate the sail. Additional "trinkets" will be
supplied for decorating the driftwood, if desired. For sessions held at client locations,
participants can either supply their own driftwood or Glenda will bring samples for
the workshop.
