Suzanne Barrow

Barrow House Studio

Suzanne - painter, potter, carver - and known by many as “The Sky Lady,” explores a multitude of mediums.  Beautiful landscapes in Oils, bold abstracts in Acrylics; and her Watercolours - well they take on a uniqueness of their own.  Each piece has a story.  Step through the studio door and contemplate the beauty of our ever changing skies, or go to a place you have never been before.  Pottery has its place in the studio, mostly hand built and a bit quirky; but Suzanne has added works from the wheel this year.  Soapstone Carving is a new passion, smaller pieces all hand sanded with love.  You will find Suzanne’s work on permanent display in the Gimli Art Club Gallery by the harbour and in her home studio.  Barrow House Studio awaits your visit on the WAVE (September long weekend and all other times by appointment ).

            Lorraine Bohn

After painting for years in Oils and Watercolours, Lorraine now focuses on acrylics. The journey of discovering and exploring the many techniques that can be applied using acrylics is very challenging.  The use of bold colours, textures, layering collage and the pouring of paint create exciting results.  Lorraine is inspired by nature around her and this is evident in her work whether realistic or abstract. Joanne Gullachsen

Over the years I have continued to challenge myself; and with each challenge, I have explored my ability as an artist.  There is always the worry or the concern about whether the painting / drawing will convey what I want and the feeling of satisfaction if it has sent out that particular message or feeling.
