Angel Calnek

Angel Calnek’s creative journey has been a lifelong immersion in the fields of visual arts and music, passions cultivated since her childhood. Discovering the artistry of stained glass, she continually sought new horizons, eventually undertaking a deeper exploration into kiln firing and glass casting.
This award-winning glass artist thrives on every opportunity to experiment with diverse techniques in kiln fired glass skillfully incorporating a myriad of organic and mineral elements and drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of nature.

A foray into linocut and screen printing at the Martha Street Printmaking Studio opened new avenues for her creativity. Seamlessly integrating these printmaking techniques into her glasswork, she has forged a fusion of artistic disciplines that adds an extra element to her already impressive artistry.

Beyond the visual arts, Angel is a celebrated roots and blues singer with a musical journey spanning decades. Sharing concert stages with her life partner and guitarist, Darrell “Slide Boy” Sandmoen, the duo also produce community concerts of welcoming musical experiences in their renovated barn venue, nestled in the serene countryside of St. Andrews.
